          Fees & funding

One of the biggest things you need to arrange before you start a Bachelor’s degree or other undergraduate course is how you’ll fund your studies. Most students use student loans to help pay their tuition fees and living costs.

          Our fees commitment

Our fees commitment means your tuition fees are fixed throughout your course and applies to all undergraduate Honours degree students.

After you’ve started at BU, there will be no changes to your fees – irrespective of future changes in government policy or rises in maximum fee levels. This applies to new entrants for September 2020, as well as all our current students.

For more information about fees and costs for specific courses, visit our course pages – where you’ll also find fees for our Integrated Master’s degrees.

          Scholarships and bursaries

To help fund your studies, we offer a varied range of scholarships to reward academic excellence as well as musical or sporting talents. Depending on your scholarship, you may be awarded a cash payment (often via a pre-paid card) or a discount on your tuition fees. We also offer Maintenance and Care Leaver bursaries based on specific criteria.

          Fee discounts

If a member of your family works, is currently studying at or is a graduate of BU, you may be eligible for a fee discount. Please email fees@bournemouth.ac.uk to discuss your eligibility; please include your applicant/student ID number. See page 4 of the 2020/21 fees policy (pdf 597kb) for more details.
